PDMP Policies and Practices

PDMPs are designed to facilitate the collection, analysis, and reporting of information on the prescribing, dispensing, and use of prescription drugs within a state. State PDMPs share many commonalities in how the programs function, operate, and goals they wish to achieve; however, there does exist some differences from state to state based on state statutes and regulations. This section contains guidance documents, tools, suggested practices, and information to assist PDMPs and related stakeholders in learning and understanding both the similarities and differences among the PDMPs and to assist PDMPs in achieving their full potential.
