The draft PDMP Interstate Compact provides a mechanism for state PDMPs to form an agreements to work collaboratively to share PDMP data with other states. The compact provides an efficient and comprehensive tool to states for the purpose of allowing practitioners to support patients and support treatment decisions and use prescription monitoring data as authorized by state law to curtail drug misuse and diversion. The compact further provides a technology infrastructure to facilitate secure data transmission.
